Two of the best standalone controllers are the Denon MCX8000 and the Pioneer XDJ-RX2 . Standalone controllers don’t require a laptop. You can simply connect a USB hard drive or thumb drive to the controller and DJ with that. You CAN use a laptop if you want to but you don’t have to.
