Another great line up of high-end speakers are the EV EKX and ETX series. The EKS and ETX 12 and 15 inch speakers sound very crisp and can go very loud. Obviously the ETX speakers are more powerful, that’s why they cost more. I purchased a pair of EKX 12 inch speakers and a pair of ETX 18 inch subwoofers. Most mobile DJs I spoke to have the EKX tops and either the EKX subs or the ETX subs.
Let’s take a closer look at the subwoofers. The EKX sub has awesome bass and sounds really good when paired with an EKX 12-inch speaker. The ETX sub sounds even better. It is a beast. It’s big, powerful, and heavy. It weighs 130 pounds but fortunately, it has wheels. So basically once you have it out of your vehicle, moving it won’t be a problem.
Keep in mind that if you’re not able to buy a sub-woofer right now, you might be able to rent one from your local music store. I have friends who started out with 2 12-inch speakers and whenever they had a big gig they simply rented sub-woofers.
You can find the EV EKX series and the ETX series speakers at your local music store or on Amazon. Click any of the links below for prices and detailed specs.
